Music Director – Radio 92.9 WBOS-FM

Radio 92.9/WBOS is looking for a Music Director who can implement the day-to-day music and imaging sound of the station.

This is not an entry-level position.  We're looking for a team member who:

 

  • Is a passionate music fan, knows and loves classic alternative, and rock music and artists from the 90’s to now
  • Has 3-5 years of music scheduling experience (G Selector preferred)
  • Can juggle multiple duties, projects and deadlines
  • Can write compelling and entertaining copy for on-air and digital
  • Can help create and execute exciting music experiences for listeners
  • Has fun working in a team environment
  • Can follow and execute a strategic plan
  • Has strong relationships within the music industry
  • Has production experience with Audiovault, Sound Forge, and/or Adobe Audition
  • Can create music/entertainment blog content and share it with fans on Social Media

Street Team (part-time)

MAGIC 106.7 is seeking part-time Street Team members who are interested in learning more about event marketing and the fascinating world of radio broadcasting and promotions. As part of the Street Team, you will work to gain exposure for the radio station at station-produced and/or sponsored events, area concerts, sporting and cultural events and other on-site opportunities relevant to the station’s marketing and sales efforts.

Candidates must be detail oriented, creative, and outgoing. They must have strong communication and organizational skills and must be able to represent the station in a positive manner at events. Candidates should have strong people skills, web/internet knowledge, and must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. All candidates should possess a desire to learn more about promotional/marketing strategies for radio. In order to be considered for the position, candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must be capable of loading the station vehicle in preparation for events.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Set up, execution, and breakdown of station appearances;
  • Representation of the station in a positive manner;
  • Maintenance of station vehicle and prize inventory;
  • Interaction with clients at sales appearances;
  • Upholding appropriate station image at all events;
  • Communication with Promotion Director before and after events;
  • Assistance in training interns

Greater Media Boston Internships

The Internship Program for Greater Media Boston radio stations Radio 92.9 - WBOS-FM, Country 102.5 - WKLB-FM, Magic 106.7 - WMJX-FM, 105.7 - WROR-FM and WBQT HOT 96.9 FM is a non-salaried position* which is designed to give students hands-on experience with the various aspects of major market radio stations.  The program is available to students, working for academic credit, who are able to work 10-15 hours per week for twelve weeks. Interns are trained and supervised by the department manager for the particular station(s) you are assigned (i.e. Sales/Programming Promotions, IT/Engineering).

Interns must be resourceful and willing to initiate projects.  Good communications skills and attention to detail are important.
