Sue Tabb interviews Emmy Award Winning Meteorologist Mish Michaels. When Mish was in kindergarten, an F2 tornado ripped through her apartment complex just outside of Baltimore, Maryland. It is her earliest childhood memory and she’s been searching the skies ever since! She began her career in Boston with WHDH back in 1992 and has worked for WBZ-TV, WMUR, as well as The Weather Channel- but credits her T-STORM license plates for landing her the job at such a young age. She has been affiliated with the Meteorology Department at UMASS Lowell for over a decade, where she has taught a course called “Meteorological Communications.” Born in Calcutta, India with the given name Anuradha meaning “one who does good for others,” she was twice named “Boston’s Best Meteorologist” by the Improper Bostonian. Mish launched an organic clothing line for the Weather Watcher in every kid!, Natural Cloud Cover by Mish Michaels and has also written a children’s book, Ms. G’s Shadowy Road To Fame: The True Story of the Massachusetts Groundhog.
