Everything You Need To Know About The New Nintendo Switch

Nintendo's Switch Event brought a lot of good news to the table for all you gamers or parents of gamers out there!

To fill in the people who missed the initial release of information, the Nintendo Switch is the next gaming console out there, which is supposed to give you the capability of not only having upgraded games and equipment, but a docked system that can be turned into a portable system (similar to a tablet), and even a portable multi-player system, if you so choose. The sides split into what Nintendo phrased as "Joy-Con," AKA 2 mini-controllers.

For those who haven't seen the promo yet for the Nintendo Switch, watch it here:

NintendoSwitch arrives on March 3. Here's what's in the box.

Business Insider lists the console includes the following items as the bundle:
-A Switch tablet (which is where the console harbors all the information).
-A set of Joy-Con (the dual controllers that hook to the sides).
-The Switch dock, for connecting to your television.
-The Joy-Con dock/gamepad.
-Two wriststraps for the Joy-Con.
-Two cables (power and HDMI).
- Additional pieces, like extra Joy-Con for multi-player can be purchased separately.

You can also choose between having dual colored Joy-Con, or having standard grey ones (and they cost the same).

So, COST:

Looks pretty cool, right? $300 worth of cool?

That's right. Most of the consoles out there are a pretty penny, but $299 is the sticker price for the hybrid system. Along with the regular system comes a "free" at first online service, which will saddle up with a fixed subscription at a later date, according to Popular Mechanics. As far as hardware is concerned,  retail cost for purchasing additional or replacement Joy-Con are $80 for a bundle, $50 singular (left or right) - because let's face it, if this thing is portable, people are going to lose Joy-Con at some point.

But what's even more excited is the list of games that will be released for the system, including what The Verge calls "Long Delayed" The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Some of the other cool ones to note for less heavy gamers include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a new one called Super Mario Odyssey. No note as of right now how much the games will retail for, or if any of these games below in the playlist will come as part of the subscription service.

With Every Good Comes Some Questionable Notes:

The Verge notes that they have some concerns over some of Nintendo's ideas. The paid service for the console "will let you play one NES or SNES game with added multiplayer functionality a month, as well as remove the company’s first ever paywall for online play." They also note as of right now, you'll need a Smartphone app to use certain pieces of the service like voice chat and game invitations, but hopefully that will change before the launch of the game. There is also concern that if you play the console primarily docked or primarily mobile that you will wear out one set of things versus the other - but that's all conspiracy at this point.

Final Notes:

As of right now, "The Switch" (as the kids are calling it) will be released March 3 with a lot more details, but there is supposedly a "limited quanity of pre-orders" - which we're sure if they are THAT limited, they are probably already gone.
