Star Trek Is Getting A Reboot!

E! and The Hollywood Reporter confirm that Star Trek is coming to TV - but there's a catch.

The Hollywood Reporter says that the reboot is slated around 2017, but the catch is that there will be one network premiere for it, before it moves to CBS's All Access Network (streaming services).

"We’ve experienced terrific growth for CBS All Access, expanding the service across affiliates and devices in a very short time. We now have an incredible opportunity to accelerate this growth with the iconic Star Trek, and its devoted and passionate fan base, as our first original series,” said Marc DeBevoise, executive vp and GM at CBS Digital Media to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sadly, Leonard Nimoy was not here to see this happen, but William Shatner and George Takei are still powering through, so hopefully they will have some involvement. Due to the popularity of the Star Trek franchise of movies, we're sure that Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and company will be geeked - but also, most likely, not involved.

We'll keep you updated as soon as we hear more!
