Well, out of all the things we thought we'd get out of the Back To The Future franchise, we didn't expect to get the self-lacing shoes!
But here we are! Nike gives Michael J. Fox the first pair of self-lacing shoes, and the proceeds for the shoes, out in 2016, will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's. According to ABC, "In 2011, Nike auctioned 1,500 pairs of Nike Air Mag shoes on eBay after which $4.7 million in proceeds went to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research."

They will be following suit again, according to MJF, when he showed them off on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! last night.
Even President Barack Obama was pretty geeked about #BackToTheFutureDay - he tweeted out to MJF the following:
Happy Back to the Future Day, @RealMikeFox! Ever think about the fact that we live in the future we dreamed of then? That's heavy, man.

Mr. President, I never dreamed I'd be talking about the future with someone who's making History. https://t.co/i5swY8ksEB

All in all, Back To The Future Day was a total success.... but we still don't have flying cars.
