Melissa McCarthy Creates Plus Size Fashion Line

Hallelujah for us full figured ladies! Melissa McCarthy, who’s never been shy about discussing weight or how the industry tries shoving women into smaller sized boxes has announced that she is working on a fashion line called “Melissa McCarthy Seven7” which will debut in August, with more pieces to hit in 2016.

Melissa studied textiles in college, and she felt that it was something she could work with giving her stance on the issue. According to EOnline, she told More Magazine, “People don't stop at size 12. I feel like there's a big thing missing where you can't dress to your mood above a certain number. [Malls] segregate plus-size.”

In conjunction with Sunrise Brands Gerard Guez, the team that owns Seven7 and American Rag will be working directly with McCarthy, and it will become her own section of the line.

McCarthy, who’s already a busy woman, fashioned this line to be from sizes 4 to 28 at moderately set prices to be sold through Macy’s, Blooomingdale’s, Nordstrom, and her website

Given that we love how Melissa rocks her body and loves the skin she’s in, we wanted to take this moment to honor some of her best red carpet fashions. She clearly knows what she’s doing fashion wise, so we can’t wait to see this line!
