Story details are still being kept tightly under wraps, but the project will be written by Chris Weitz (“The Twilight Saga: New Moon”) will shoot this summer for a December 16, 2016 release.

Moreover, “Looper” director Rian Johnson will write and direct “Star Wars: Episode VIII,” the sequel to this December’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“Episode VIII” will arrive less than six months after “Rogue One” on May 26, 2017.
