Ryan Reynolds will make people pay attention to his acting career again, even if he has to divulge the details of his personal life to do it.
While promoting “Woman in Gold” on “TODAY,” Reynolds finally confirmed that he and his wife, Blake Lively, named their daughter James.
“It’s out there. It’s James,” he said, admitting what had long been speculated.
But first, he joked about some other names they “considered” before landing on James, including Excalibur Anaconda and Butternut Summersquash.
Reynolds then explained his reasoning for not admitting to the baby’s name sooner.
“Everyone knows. And I told everyone who would listen that. I just, before it was out there, I didn’t want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media,” he told Willie Geist. “Because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls, and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, ‘Why did you do that?’”
So there you have it: Ryan’s just scared of the wrath of a teenager in the distant future. Weigh in on his explanation down in the comments!
