Gwyneth Paltrow: “I’m Incredibly Close to the Common Woman”

This week, female Pinocchio Gwyneth Paltrow is once again insisting that she’s a real girl.

Gwyneth takes a bad rap for not relating to the average American, but she tells CNN Money that she’s truly quite normal.

“I’m incredibly close to the common woman in that I’m a woman, and I’m a mother, and we all are in a physical body with beating hearts, with companion and love. We are all seekers. We all want questions. We all want fulfillment, we want to live our best lives, we want to be healthy and happy and squeeze the most that we can out of life. I think that’s all women.”

If the requirement for being an average woman is working ventricles, then we suppose Gwyneth does in fact fit the criteria.

To her credit, the interviewer is the one who first used the phrase “the common woman,” so it’s not like Gwyneth was referring to other women “peasants” or some such insult.

When asked about the idea that she’s “disconnected” from other woman, she says, “I always say that when people make that false assumption, it’s ‘cause they haven’t actually gone to the site and seen what we’re selling and seen what we’re about.”

Paltrow doesn’t see herself as a guru, she just as a woman with a lot of questions. What do you think? Check out the video and weigh in below!
