FOX Renews “Sleepy Hollow” for Third Season

Abbie and Ichabod have held off the Four Horsemen for a little while longer, at least.

On the heels of renewals for “Empire,” “Gotham” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” bubble series “Sleepy Hollow” has been renewed for a third season at FOX.

“’Sleepy Hollow’ is truly inventive television. The talented producers – led by Alex, Bob, Len and Heather – along with the brilliant cast, anchored by Nicole and Tom, have created a fantastic world that brings ‘history’ to life with compelling and vibrant storytelling,” FOX Entertainment President David Madden said in the release.

There was some cause for concern, as season 2 struggled a bit both creatively and in the ratings, after becoming a breakout hit in its first year.

The show has secured “The Glades” executive producer Clifton Campbell to take over as showrunner for season 3 after Mark Goffman stepped down.

When the show was set up, the mythology suggested that Abbie and Ichabod, the two witnesses, would be seven years of trials, so for now, their journey hasn’t been cut short.

Are you happy about more “Sleepy Hollow”?
