Ellen Albertini Dow, best known for her roles in The Wedding Singer and Wedding Crashers, has passed away at the age of 101.
Albertini Dow’s agent Juliet Green confirmed the sad news to Deadline Hollywood.
Albertini Dow started her acting career in her 70s and would go on to steal scenes ever since. While her role as Grandma Mary Cleary in 2005’s Wedding Crashers was a standout, it goes without saying that she’ll always be remembered as Rosie, Adam Sandler’s piano student, from 1998’s The Wedding Singer. I mean c’mon…who doesn’t remember when she took the mic and busted out Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight?!”
Of course, Albertini Dow had plenty of other credits to her name. She also appeared as a guest star on a number of TV shows including Seinfeld, ER, Will & Grace, Judging Amy, Six Feet Under, Family Guy and most recently New Girl in 2013.
