When she was dating Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens didn’t always feel like they were all in this together.
The “High School Musical” alum revealed to the New York Times that jealousy had her acting a great deal more like Sharpay Evans than her character, Gabriella Montez.
“I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up,” she tells the Times. “Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares. Then I realized that’s not what that’s about. ‘Spread the love, be a good persona, they support you, be nice.”
But Vanessa got over feeling green – and eventually got over Zac, too – and has been in a long-term relationship with “The Carrie Diaries” actor Austin Butler.
She’s a far cry from the girl she was during her “HSM” days, both personally and professionally.
After stepping away from the musical scene and playing a bad girl in “Spring Breakers,” she’ll get a chance to combine both when she plays Rizzo, ringleader of the Pink Ladies, in FOX’s “Grease: Live” next January.
