Giuliana Rancic made amends with Zendaya, but the E! correspondent’s life isn’t totally free of controversy.
Rancic has long been criticized for her increasingly slender figure, and the “Fashion Police” co-host gave an incredibly forthright interview with PEOPLE about her weight.
She denies that she suffers from an eating disorder, telling the site that her oncologist suggested her metabolism could’ve been changed by the cancer-suppressing meds she’s been on since 2012.
“I’m sorry that some people think I’m disgustingly skinny, as they put it, but there’s nothing I can do,” she tells PEOPLE. “I’m lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine.”
Rancic notes that her thin frame has become a “distraction” to viewers when she shows off certain parts of her body.
While she denies “hiding from anything,” she adds that if she were suffering from an eating disorder, the reaction from fans and the press wouldn’t help.
“I thought to myself, ‘God, if someone really though I had an eating disorder, what a horrible way to approach it,” she shared with PEOPLE.
