Chris Pine Explains THAT Academy Awards Moment

John Legend and Common’s performance at the Oscars was one of the most talked-about moments of the night.

It was closely followed by Chris Pine’s reaction to the performance, his widely-discussed “single tear.”

Pine finally explained himself, while joining his “Into the Woods” co-star James Corden on CBS’ “Late Late Show” on Tuesday.

“It was a wonderful performance, and it was really movie. And a lot of people gave me a lot of crap for the single tear. And I would say, as an actor, the only time in my life that I think I’ll ever be able to produce a single tear down my cheek was at the Academy Awards,” Pine told Corden.

The night’s other guest, Patricia Arquette, also recapped her Best Supporting Actress win for “Boyhood.”

While she didn’t get into her controversial post-speech comments, Arquette did place herself amongst the most down-to-Earth Oscar winners of all time by revealing that after the ceremony, she had a pizza party in her pajamas.

What do you make of Chris Pine’s explanation? Let us know down in the comments!
