We’re convinced that even those living under a rock know that The Avengers: Age of Ultron is coming out this weekend, so it’s not that surprising that the film had an incredible box office return on their Thursday night screenings in North America.
How incredible, you may ask? Try $27.6 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which eclipsed the $18.7 million Thursday night draw of the first Avengers film. Add that to the $287 million early figures in overseas markets, and yeah…this movie is going to break some serious bank this weekend.
Despite that incredible $27.6 million gross, The Avengers: Age of Ultron doesn’t even come close to the record for biggest Thursday Night gross. That honor belongs to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, which took in a whopping $43.5 million.
